Memorial Day weekend

So, I havent posted in almost 2 weeks... I must confess I am addicted to a new website...Tummy Tuck Talk... What can I say? really my brain can only focus on my flat tummy future and how slow time is moving!

Yesterday we celebrated DS1 7th birthday...yes 7th! How can time fly for some things but for others it crawls like a snail on Ambien... I am not sure...

Anyway, today we arew going to a friend's house for a cook out and I made a cake- I think it turned out good although the frosting job is a little botched up...LOL...

Tommorrow, I am not sure what I'm going to do, kinda short on cash this week so Memorial Day Sales are out of the question.

Just wanted to say hi... catch up later...

Thus far...

Have you ever had a week that seems to take a month to go by? I know, I know, we've all been there. Only Wednesday and I need the weekend- although this weekend promises to be super busy with 2 birthday parties and tons of laundry. Oh well, let's keep chugging...

Yesterday I was supposed to go to the dentist, and I canceled, again...LOL I think nit is some sort of Freudian slip, but something always comes up when I have to go to the dentist. Dental work freaks me out! So, instead of the dentist, we went car shop[ping. Our old Montana had us spending about 300 dollars or more in gas a month...nuts, huh? Now with gas atalmost 3 dollars a gallon there is no way, plus it was starting to get some mechanical poroblems, and with over 100k miles it was time to say goodbye. We purchased a Nissan Versa, black, 4 door, nice. We has been looking around but nothing was worth our hard savings as a down payment, but this car was a steal. 5k miles, 2010, for less than 3k retail value...not bad! and finally DH has anew car since as he so eloquently puts it he always get "the left overs"- I always get the new car purchases and he gets the hand me downs, this time its all him ;).

This week...presenting...

So yesterday was employee appreciation night and my clinic invited everyone to a AZ Diamondback game against LA Dodgers- we lost, they won... swept us in our own turf is more like it- what can I say, I am a sore loser, LOL.

My son fell two days ago while his older brother play-chased him and got a rug burn on his forehead. It's been wierd patterns of patient flow at work since the SB 1070 was signed and I am not sure if I will meet my encounter quota and I feel like a giant blimp! I can't wait until my surgery.

That's my week this far, nothing exciting...oh, the cleaning lady came on Tuesday and did a fairly poor job at cleaning, I guess I can't ask for perfection...

Good week overall though. I'm looking forward to my residency trip coming up in June. I'm going with one of my hest friends, Hassie. She knows everything about me...yes, everything. She's the kind of friend that would not judge me and always listens to me vent even though her life is way worse off than mine. I love her and I am blessed to have her as a friend.

We are arriving in different flights so I will get some alone time on the plane there- maybe I'll read or maybe I'll just take a nap. She will aarrive two hours later and we will meet at the hotel- a beautiful colonial style hotel in Virginia, close to DC. It will be a busy four days but in the evening I will be able to relax and make the heart grow fonder being away from my two kids and husband for four days and three nights.

I'm looking forward to getting some more concrete information on selecting my dissertation committee and starting the process.

Anyway... I'll post this weekend, very busy and I really need to go buy the little guy some clothes- he's totally outgrown his clothes...my sweet baby...

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello!

Okay, so I'm officially late for a mother's day greeting, but you know...busy with the family. I had a very unproductive, do absoltuely nothing day. It felt sort of wierd. I went to my frineds house and spent the day veggin' out with my kids, with an urge to do something and my friend reminding me that "it's okay to just sit once in a while"... LOL, I don't know how to do that!

It was a great day, tired of resting so I'm up blogging at 2 am; however, the week begins and the routine starts again.

For all you mom's out there, I hope you had a great one!

Introduction- First official blog!

Hi Everyone!!

My name is Kat. I am a 32 year old mother of two boys (2 years and 6 years old) and married to a wonderful husband for 13 years.

I've ben wanting to start a blog for a long time, but I didn't really know where to start- it seems that I was making it harder than it really was...

What do I want to talk about?? Everything and anything! I am a mom, woman, full time counselor, full-time doctoral student, and wife. I love photogrqphy, books, crafts, painting and drawing, academics, travel, movies, and just venting about life (we can all use a pity party once in a while ;) ).

I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes and Fibromyalgia and once ina great while an asthma attack... I know, I know... I call myself the family genetic waste land of disease, but I still live a normal, very active and busy life.

My DH and I (but mostly him) decided we weren't going to have any more children, so I decided that I'm getting a tummy tuck this summer. I am so excited, surgery is scheduled July 1st.

This summer is going to be full of things to do:

June ~ Doctoral residency for a week in DC

July ~ Tummy tuck and Comprehensive Doctoral Exam (a week long test to prove my worth to graduate and move on to the Dissertation process).

August ~ Going to Orlando to see family and the Disney Parks. An experience not for the faint of heart... there will be a 7 yhear old, a 5 year old, a 2 year old and a 15 month old... so exciting, I can't wait!

September ~ Start the Dissertation process... yikes!!!

Anyway, I look forware to meeting some people, chatting it up and in the meantime provide some useful information for mom's out there that need a "time out spot".
